Things That Make Me Happy #4 Breakfast

Breakfast time... It's the motivation of my uprising from my (very) comfortable bed to my (also) comfortable kitchen.

I love breakfast. Its a statement and a fact. I'm not going to bore you with 'because breakfast is the most important meal of the day' even though it is true. If you start to make that little effort every morning to make something healthy and yummy to eat, you will start to feel a whole lot more fuelled and energized (I promise!) To be honest my brain does not work until I have satisfied my tummy and my mind in the morning... I am also proud to say I have never left home without breakfast (how is that even legal?)

Sometimes, I'm so sad that I plan the night before...but that's just me and I do it because it makes me happy :)

If you were to minus my Coffee Mondays and Thursdays from my routine, I would no longer have any motivation to get up any day of the week.

How do you like my oat pancakes topped with, bananas, berries, almond butter (my version of coconut almond butter from http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/03/almond-coconut-butter.html), and not to mention to be drizzled with dark chocolate; because really who doesn't need chocolate in their life?

Happy Breakfasting!

Summer Prints and Photography

Yesterday my family and I went to a barbeque in Epping Forest and when I could escape, I dragged my newly qualified mini photographer (my little sister) with me into the woods to take some photographs. As you can see I only got my camera recently and its obviously taking me some time to learn how to use and jump into the world of blogging... but hey I'm getting there slowly but surely:)

...Whilst also learning the bothers of photo editing...

Top: New Look Li Maya Printed Cami

Shorts: New Look Highwaist Denim Hotpants

Shoes: Clarks
(My favourite and most comfortable)

Nails: BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish in Green Berry
(My most worn and loved colour this summer)

If you were thinking, yes I did go crazy in the New Look sales.

Do you have any photography/editing tips for me? How do you all manage your blogs?

Let me know :)

Summer in the City

On Sunday I went with my friends to Oxford Street and Hyde Park for my friends Hana's birthday. We all had such a crazy time, (getting up to no good) and I even managed to achieve some things from my bucket list...like eating macaroons!

Here are some of the photos from the day...

Things That Make Me Happy #3 Starbucks, Coconuts and Coffee :)

When the sun shines, the sky is blue, I'm with my friends and I bump into a Starbucks cafe; my life is complete.

I could go on and on about my obsession and true love for coffee but I will save you the pain (for now) because that is for a whole other post.

BUT  I have a major thing for coconuts. I add it to everything from oatmeal, to cakes, in my almond butter, as a pancake topping because it just makes them taste so good.

Please don't be surprised if you see a (many) more photos of my much loved Starbucks and coffee because its finally the summer holidays ,after what seemed a never ending countdown from the end of last summer, and I'm planning to go to many cafés around London.

My curiosity leads me to so many places...

Coffee anyone? Next time it will be coconut bras and grass skirts in Hawaii.

Nutri - Bowls

I am pretty sure I stumbled across it somewhere on this world wide thing we call the internet because I'm not this cleaver and when I am its never this simple.

Nutri - Bowls (Cheering in the background 'YAY'), they are delicious, easy and quick to make and are packed full of nutritious, 'good for your body' foods. You can add anything to them and customize it to your own likes and add things that you have in your kitchen.

Today I made one for me and my mum and added (to each bowl):
- 1/2 tomato
- 1/2 large carrot
- 1/2 ripe avocado
 - 1/2 celery stick
- 1/4 cucumber
- 4 small cooked chicken breasts
- 1 heaped table spoon of hummus (lower fat is better)
- 1 egg (fried/ scrambled/ omelette or boiled... up to you!)

I chopped up all of the raw veggies into sticks to dip into the hummus and places them all into a manageable bowl so you can get straight into it, with feet and all.

I think this is a great healthy, lunch idea with all 5 of your 5 a day, healthy fats and protein that doesn't make you have to knock your head until you find a good recipe.

So, I can guess what your making for lunch tomorrow...NUTRI-BOWLS!

Enjoy.

Things That Make Me Happy #2 Cake Batter

Opps I did it again...

Yes. I will scoop up the remaining cake batter until its as clean as it can be.

Most would say its a guilty pleasure but what's so guilty about it, its the same thing as eating the cake isn't it? To be honest I'm not completely sure if its great for you because the ingredients are not technically 'cooked' ...(well raw egg anyone?) But it is covered in chocolate that makes it better :)

Well the main thing is it makes me happy! The main reasons I love cooking is because I feel satisfied after putting in the effort and you get food at the end. Duh.

Anyone else up for sharing a whole bowl of cookie batter with me?
