Malaga, Spain 2014-15 Photo Diary (Part 2)

People always say you shouldn't dwell on the past or think about the future too much but the memory of Spain seems to be the one of the things keeping me going and the idea of a long summer break after my exams is the motivation for me to work just that bit more harder so that I feel like I really have earned it .

No, no I'm pretty sure my dad's a natural ;)

I'm going to take this moment to thank my parents for everything they do everyday, the opportunities they give me constantly and the absolutely amazing holidays they have been taking me on since I was born (feeling a smoosh bit emotional right now!)

One of the days we woke up early to go to Gibraltar, a British territory, the view was so beautiful from the top of The Rock of Gibraltar where all the monkeys were roaming freely...

They told me that the land in the very distance was Africa which I didn't believe at the time but after some map checking and geography teacher asking I found out that yes, we did see Morocco - wow, it was a pretty sweet view.

Come on you simply have to take photos with  awsome Spanish orange trees

The last sunset of 2014 was mesmerising and definitely unforgettable

On the last day we started with breakfast at our favourite café Churros and Noddles where we most easily consumed multiple hot churros and an extremely sweetened beverage with coffee.

This is memory making.

This is the height of life.

Malaga, Spain 2014-15 Photo Diary (Part 1)

Finally, the post I have been dying to publish, the cute photos I have been dying to share - Ladies and Gentlemen I bring you the Malaga Photo Diary!

*Everyone cheers in excitement*

I can't believe how fast 10 days in Spain go - I'm sad that I'm still not on the beach passing hours doing absolutely nothing but I'm so glad that I made the most of every day and every unexpected event.

I was absolutely exhausted after our flight because I had barely slept and looked ill because I had a cold but my family and I were picked up from the airport by dad's friend who recently bought a holiday home there. We bought some food from a local supermarket and made our way to the apartment we were staying in that was both cosy and pretty - perfect. The cutest thing was that it had a balcony and an open flat roof with deck chairs #livingthedreamindecember

Well here's a funny story (though it wasn't at the time), my dad's friend has two sons about my age and when we were younger all we did was fight. No honestly - we hated each other. They told me that I was actually the scary one because I didn't let them play on my computer, always decided to scream at them when I wanted something and dragged them by the hair (I would have been scared if I were them). Meeting them again was a little intimidating at first because they are really tall compared to me but after a while it was really fun hanging around together.

3 Hours = 3 Fish

Our parents lost us, it grew dark and cold and we had no idea what to do so we started to head back to the apartment -personally blaming it on my dad since he told us that the fish we caught would be our  dinner, so if we caught nothing we ate nothing.

When they eventually found us they claimed they were really worried but still blamed it on us for not being easy to find and then apologised with 2 buckets of KFC.

But the sea bass was so good.

And we sat around the TV drinking comforting hot chocolate together and went on evening walks which was amazing :)

I'm a very happy girl.

What happens when I spot some perty flowers on a walk with my sister?

Millions of pictures of the same flowers at different angles which I secretly know will never be deleted because I'm that lazy.

Beaches are generally pretty but everywhere in Malaga there is beautiful scenery.

My brother attempting to be Spiderman...

'Look there are Cactuses', says Priyanka. 'Wait, cactuses - that doesn't sound right'.

'It's Cacti genius.'

So I learnt not to say everything that comes into my head out loud :0

My dad is obviously a natural model.

Or its just the scenery that makes him look good.

Then it was Christmas featuring a strangely large turkey that was hard to cook, half boiled brussel sprouts because we complained we were too hungry to wait, bad Christmas cake but it was all okay because we ate up on the roof in the sunshine :)

I can't put into words how much fun it was to spend Christmas on the beach nor will pictures fully illustrate every moment but it doesn't matter because I will always remember what an exciting break it was.

How did you spend your Christmas break? Do you find spending Christmas on the beach a little weird?

Packed for Spain 23/12/2014

Christmas and New Years in Spain?

It will be interesting to see how that goes and if I packed the right type (and amount) of clothes!

The thing I have learnt from going on family holidays is that you have to be comfortable (bring the necessary things to feel as much at home as possible) and to get up earlier than everyone else so they don't keep moaning that I take too long in the bathroom getting ready.

Also some packing tips:

-Count the days you're going for so you take the right amount of clothes (especially small things like vests and socks etc.)

-Take comfortable shoes that you can walk in for hours

-Fold your clothes into small rolls to try and compact everything together and make the best of your space

Note to self: Be patent and refrain from getting angry when pictures don't turn out right because a glum face wont do any better.

I absolutely love the quote:

Life is like a camera,
Focus on what's important,
Capture the good times,
Develop from the negatives,
And if things don't work out,
Take another shot.

Preach.

Merry Christmas everybody :D
